Tsavo National Park is made up of two separate parks, Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park. Located in Coast Province of Kenya in between Nairobi City and Mombasa. Famous for a large population of wild animals.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Tsavo National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya. Situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert is located near the town of Voi in the Taita-Taveta County. The park is divided into east and west sections. Named for the Tsavo River, which flows west to east through the national park, it borders the Chyulu Hills National Park, and the Mkomazi Game Reserve in Tanzania.
This exciting tour begins before sunrise, when we will pick you up from your hotel. We depart directly to the Tsavo East national park. We will drive for about 3 hours and your game drives start as soon as you enter the main gate. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species. The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most memorable images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilomtere long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make Tsavo East an adventure unforgettable!
Day 1: Mombasa/ Diani – Tsavo East/West.
You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning at 5:00 am, and depart for Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma gate; start game drives immediately. Later proceed to lodge for lunch. After lunch, depart for Tsavo West National Park Lodge for check-in. Relax until 16:00 Hours time for afternoon game drives at this Sanctuary with chance to spot; Elephant, Buffalo, Lions, Cheaters, Zebras, Gazelles and other kinds of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Lodge, (Lunch & Dinner).
Day 2: Tsavo West- Mombasa/Diani.
Early morning game drive followed by breakfast then proceed with game drive with a visit to the Mzima Springs, a major attraction! Mzima Springs is a pool of natural spring water coming from underground with an underwater viewing tank from which you can observe the hippos, fish and crocodiles. After Mzima springs, you will proceed with game drive en route to the Restaurant for lunch. After lunch drive back Mombasa/Diani, arriving in your respective hotel in the early evening, (Breakfast & Lunch).
