Explore the amazing Tsavo East National Park, one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya, in a daily trail

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Tsavo National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya. Situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert is located near the town of Voi in the Taita-Taveta County. The park is divided into east and west sections. Named for the Tsavo River, which flows west to east through the national park, it borders the Chyulu Hills National Park, and the Mkomazi Game Reserve in Tanzania.

We will pick you from our hotel before sunrise to leave from Mombasa towards the direction of Nairobi for about 115 km arriving at the Bachuma Gate, where you will enter the east section of the Tsavo National Park. Tsavo East National Park is one of the world’s largest game reserves, providing undeveloped wilderness homes to vast numbers of animals. Famous are the Tsavo lions, a population of lions, where adult males often lack manes entirely. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species. The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most memorable images in Africa. This, along with the 300 km long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make Tsavo East an adventure unforgettable!
