TOUR DESCRIPTION
Tsavo National Park is one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya. Situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert is located near the town of Voi in the Taita-Taveta County. The park is divided into east and west sections. Named for the Tsavo River, which flows west to east through the national park, it borders the Chyulu Hills National Park, and the Mkomazi Game Reserve in Tanzania.
The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya. It is located in Taita-Taveta County approximately 220 kilometers from Mombasa. The sanctuary covers an area of 110 km2, and is adjacent to Tsavo West National Park and the LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary. It hosts cape buffalo, African bush elephant, African leopard, Masai lion, Tanzanian cheetah, Maasai giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, Thomson’s gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, and other smaller animals, including a great diversity of birdlife.
Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park-Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (Salt Lick).
You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning at 5:00 am, and depart for Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma gate; start game drives immediately. Later proceed to lodge for lunch.
After lunch, depart for Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge for check-in. Relax until 16:00 Hours time for afternoon game drives at this Sanctuary with chance to spot; Elephant, Buffalo, Lions, Cheaters, Zebras, Gazelles and other kinds of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge, (Lunch & Dinner).
Day 2: Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (Salt Lick) – Mombasa.
Early morning game drives from 6:15am followed by a breakfast at 8:30am. After breakfast proceed with game drives until lunch time at Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge. After Lunch depart for Mombasa or Diani, arriving at your respective hotel in the early evening, (Breakfast & Lunch).
